Do You Remember The Time ..?
Do you remember why you first started your business? Do you remember the first obstacle you encountered and how you overcame it?
Here are some popular reasons South African entrepreneurs gave for starting their businesses from a survey we did of 1,000 entrepreneurs.
- To have a positive impact/ change the world.
- To pursue my passion.
- The idea of being able to create something.
The necessity to earn a living.
- Future opportunities that the business may present.
Yes, we know that with COVID-19 and the lockdown, SMEs are faced with drastic challenges, and you may find yourself asking yourself the 'WHY' question once again. On his YouTube channel Vusi Thembekwayo shared the characteristics that entrepreneurs need to survive during the COVID-19 business climate. They are:
1. Belief. “Belief is often more important than capability… They just believe in (what they’re doing) and they believe in themselves.”
2. Efficiency and efficacy, because it is often far more important than resources.
3. Clarity. “Be clear on what you do and why you do it. Don’t try to be everything to everybody.”
This week, we provide RESOURCES to help you to sharpen your FOCUS and develop VISION.
Stay safe and healthy entrepreneurs!
