Vodacom Assists SMEs in their Long Distance Learning Journey
Long-distance learning has been the saving grace for many small business owners aiming to advance their education while running a business. Often these individuals turn to institutions that can help them in their learning journey like the University of South Africa (UNISA). However, students still need support through technology-based solutions that address the challenges they experience.
To solve the issues that often arise with distance learning, UNISA partnered with Vodacom Business and Anani Technologies to bring about the Anani Call Centre. With over 400 000 students, UNISA identified the need to find a better solution to reaching students. The call centre initiative bridges this gap.
Furthermore, students and staff alike benefit from the call centre’s mobile internet services: It boasts a full suite of Mobile and Internet services for Prepaid, Postpaid and Business Enquiries.
SME Support Through A Call Centre with Equipped Staff
The partnership between Vodacom Business and UNISA enables both parties to invest in start-ups and SME end-users. It acts as a support channel for their business-related support enquiries that can quickly be addressed by call centre representatives who are trained to execute this task.
Vodacom Business’ decision to support SMEs in this way is fuelled by its understanding that SMEs are critical for economic growth and employment. They are devoted to supporting SMEs and creating tangible opportunities for economic growth through enterprise development and youth employment. That’s why they aim to provide these entrepreneurs with business support and innovative technology that fosters an inclusive, sustainable, and trusted digital society where individuals and businesses can thrive.
In addition to establishing the call centre, Vodacom Business has also developed Anani as an SME partner and reseller of desk support for UNISA’s mobile Internet services.
Driving Job Creation through Anani and Student Support
Vodacom Business is driving change to rectify the current unemployment crisis in South Africa. The Anani Call Centre initiative is creating much-needed jobs that are uplifting families and communities. Both Vodacom Business, Anani Technologies and UNISA are hopeful that as the call centre grows, it will continue to play a role in job creation.
In a recent press release, the Director of Vodacom Business, Videsha Proothveerajh said that the partnership is “not only aiming to create employment for young people but to also create transformative opportunities for SMEs through the use of technological solutions, thereby advancing socio-economic progress in South Africa.
